Why Replace Valve Stem Seals?

Valve stem seals are subjected to intense thermal cycles and gradually degrade with time and hours of navigation. A worn seal allows engine oil to pass into the combustion chamber, leading to excessive oil consumption and eventual engine damage. Common symptoms of a failing seal:

Blue smoke from the exhaust on startup or acceleration
Abnormally high oil consumption
Oil-fouled spark plugs
Burning smell from the exhaust
Loss of engine power
