Why Replace the Fuel Level Sensor?

The level sensor is subject to permanent immersion in fuel and repeated thermal cycles. Over time, the float seizes, the contacts oxidize, and the resistance drifts, making the dashboard gauge completely unusable. Ignoring these signs can lead to running out of fuel at sea, a potentially dangerous situation.
